No crowds of people, no waiting for equipment, no sweat from a previous machine user. It’s just you and your trainer. We keep our center clean, comfortable and efficiently set up. We work with you in a private training suite which you do not share with anyone for the time of your workout (unless you want to, in which case read up on our Buddy and Small Group Training.) There are no distractions of on-lookers for you or for the trainer, so your workout takes less time and you get exponentially more done.
The trainer working with you knows the difference between training a 20 year old and a 60 year old, understands the difference between male and female physiology or an athlete and someone taking the first steps in fitness. We look at you as an individual, taking into consideration all the variables, including past injuries, your starting point and, of course, your goals. We will even team up with your doctor, physical therapist or athletic coach to personalize your program. We will not attempt to sell you supplements or put you on a restrictive diet, which is likely to back-fire. We WILL provide concrete nutritional guidelines based on your lifestyle and goals. We will consult with you every step of the way, helping you reach that fine sustainable balance. Sustainability is key and that is why we work with you to create a way to eat well for life, focusing on nutrient balance and portion size recognition, which may be larger than you think. We always include lots of vegetables, lean animal or vegetable based proteins, healthy fats and grains in our recommendations to complement your goals and your energy level.
Cardio exercise is a crucial element of any fitness regimen but it’s difficult to know how much of it to do, at what intensity or how frequently. That’s where your trainer comes in. You will learn how to make the most of your cardio efforts and how to supplement your training without doing too much or too little. We will also check in with you regularly to make sure you are getting it done. Even though we do not have membership fees, our cardio area is open for you to use any time between 6am and 9pm Monday through Friday. “It takes a village to raise a child” – I think we’ve all heard the adage. And when it comes to ensuring your results, it takes the whole team to make it happen. You will have ONE head trainer working with you but trainers are human so if he or she has an emergency or goes on vacation, we don’t let you fall off the wagon, and if life gets in the way and you can’t come in at your regularly scheduled time, we will have another top notch trainer take care of you. We keep close records of your training system, your progress and your limitations, so together we will keep you accountable and on track. The expertise of a professional team is at your fingertips and it far supersedes only one person working with you. Just like on professional athletic teams, there is the head coach and a training staff, assisting. That’s how we do it and it works.
As our client, you will have access to other Paragon programs to help you make fitness a part of your lifestyle on a regular basis or to accelerate your progress periodically. We saved the best for last. At most gyms the rate is $50 to $90 per session. Generally the range depends on how many sessions you buy at one time. Just like anything else, if you buy 100 of something you get a much better rate than if you buy 5. Now, at most gyms, that rate varies a lot depending on who you talk to and at most gyms if you ask for a price list, you will be met with lots of excuses as to why they don't have one.
At Paragon, we are very open about the cost. Even though our quality of service is exceptional, our rates for Private Personal Training are competitive, ranging from $60/session for our longest-term program to $83/session for our shortest-term program. Of course, there are several options in between. Some people choose to pay for a program all at once, in which case we give a 1% additional discount, or 2% additional discount if paid by cash or check. Others prefer to make monthly payments (small surcharge may apply depending on number of payments.) As with all our programs, we offer 10% discount for youth, kids and full time students. We accept all major credit cards.
Also, at the start of your program, we perform a comprehensive Fitness Assessment, using state-of-the-art system, which costs you $199. This is a one time charge and you won't ever have to pay for another Fitness Assessment again, even though we will re-assess regularly to monitor your progress. This is important in establishing a baseline and detecting any hidden issues which may affect your training (do you have low lung capacity, musculature or skeletal imbalance, etc.) The Fitness Assessment is also necessary for us to determine your caloric needs for your nutrition program. It puts science behind your training system.
And that's it. There are no membership fees, no year-long contracts, no usage fees, technology fees, or hidden costs of any kind. Besides, you are welcome to enjoy studio use at your own leisure (without your trainer) for cardio exercise and have access to several complimentary programs.
